Origins of T Shirt Printing

Printing in Europe developed speedily from the 1900s to the 1960s, with names such as Roy Beck, Charles Peter, and Edward Owens formulating the first photo-imaged stencil in 1910. Another man named Joseph Ulanos set about the mechanisation of the large format silk screen printing through his lacquer soluble stencil. This produced a solid base to make screens which could then be made into stencils. With the stencils, volume production of the print material was feasible.
